Downtown Loft Construction Underway!

 

Construction began 3.22.07 on 1 of 4 lofts given provisions under the Vision2025 plan. These on First Street are scheduled to be completed in early 2008.

City looking to consolidate city offices: would open up additional building space for downtown mixed-use facilities and/or hotel developments.  Trial period underway, city has 30 days to 'test' financial model.

 

 

 

 

Downtown East End Land Battle

 

Cat and Mouse game played between two developers looking to develop Downtown's East End.  Local media was cited with comments from one developer angered over the purchase of land by the other developer.

-Whatever the debacle, Tulsa will see benefit from healthy competition as long as they both follow-through.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Coney Island Building Sold!

 

The Downtown Coney Island Building was sold end of Sept for $925,000, quite more than the city's assessed value of 350k.

Rising Gas Prices Killing Suburbs?

 

An article stated that rising gas prices will force people to move into the city.  Let's hope this increases the desire to move downtown as well. However, we first need more businesses and jobs created in downtown.

 


 

 

Downtown Housing moving on up

Tulsa's 2025 plan has approved the funding of many downtown housing revitalization projects.  With a vision of enlivening Tulsa's once stagnant downtown, these housing projects are indicative of Tulsa Downtown's bright future.


Tulsa Arena and Convention Center over-budget 


The Arena and Convention Center are progressing, however Tulsa mayor Kathy Taylor and her crew are working hard to finance these vital projects.
